The EHS Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics Surgery & Rehabilitation Service is the pioneer Sports Medicine and modern arthroscopic surgery service in Nigeria. The EHS Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics Surgery & Rehabilitation Service offers treatment for a wide spectrum of orthopaedic and sports injuries. Procedures are tailored to address conditions ranging from common problems such as impingement to the treatment for arthritis, fractures, instability, and rotator cuff tears. The service combines clinical Orthopaedic surgery, rehabilitative sports medicine, physical and occupational therapy, and clinical and basic science research to provide the most advanced treatment to our patients. Elite Athletes, dedicated amateurs, and weekend warriors suffering from injury share a common goal: returning to their sport as soon as possible and at the same level that they enjoyed prior to the injury. Many injuries, that at one time would have been career-ending, are now effectively treated.

Our service works closely with athletic trainers and physical therapists to improve the identification and prevention of sports injuries.


Dr. Adedayo Osholowu
Sports Physician & Director EHS Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics Surgery & Rehabilitation Service

Dr. Adedayo Osholowu is Director of the EHS Sports Medicine Orthopaedics Surgery & Rehabilitation Service. Dr Osholowu is a pioneer of Sports Medicine in Nigeria and renowned Sports Medicine Physician in Africa.

His professional focus is Football Medicine and he is an Alumnus of the prestigious FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence Johannesburg where he earned a postgraduate certification in Football. He received his initial Post graduate training in Sports Medicine from the Medical Commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Federations de International Du Sport Medicine (FIMS) in 2006. Prior to this he had completed clinical training at the Center for Shoulder Elbow and Sports Medicine at Columbia University New York. He completed his basic medical training at the College of Medicine University of Lagos. His most recent international appointments include Sports Medicine Consulting positions with the Athens 2011 Special Olympics World Games Medical Team, South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cups & FIFA Medical Team, Consultant Sports Medicine Physician 2009 African Hockey Championships and Ghana 2008 African Football Cup of Nations Medical Teams. He has also won medals and received a presidential recognition for his service to the Nigerian Male & Female Hockey National Teams. Locally he has served as a Doctor to the Lagos International Half Marathon, BG Lagos Triathlon, Dodan Warriors and Lagos Islanders Professional Basketball teams.

He is a member of the FIFA International Football Medicine and International Federation of Sports Medicine. His main research area is sports injury prevention, and he has published more than 20 original research articles, review papers and book chapters.

Dr. Sunday Onimisi Salami

Arthroscopic Orthopedic Surgeon & Co-Director EHS Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics Surgery & Rehabilitation Service

Dr. Sunday Onimisi Salami is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with special interest in arthroscopy and treatment of sports injuries. He has more than a decade of experience in medical practice. Dr. Salami has undergone extensive training in arthroscopic surgeries in Nigeria and abroad and is now focusing on treatment of conditions of the knee, shoulder and ankle with arthroscopy and other minimally invasive techniques. His interests include meniscal surgery, knee ligament reconstruction, cartilage injury, shoulder instability and general orthopaedics.

He is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons and member Nigerian Orthopaedic Association(NOA). Other society membership includes International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS); European Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy(ESSKA), International Cartilage Research Society(ICRS).

In 2012 he completed a Fellowship in Arthroscopy at the Sancheti Institute of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Pune, India. In October 2011 he obtained his Fellowship of West African College of surgeons (FWACS ortho) October 2011 and earned his Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of surgery (MBBS), University of Benin.

He is a member of the Nigerian Orthopaedic Association, International Society for Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports medicine (ISAKOS), European Society for Sports Traumatolology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA) and the International Cartilage Research Society ( ICRS)

Most recently he completed the Karl Storz course on arthroscopic ACL reconstruction, RD indo US shoulder course Coimbatore India and the musculoskeletal ultrasound course Kims hospital Secunderabad India.

Seun Fadina
Physical Fitness Trainer EHS

Seun Fadina, previously served as Manager of the Lagoon Hospitals Sports Medicine Service  where he was responsible for all clinic operations and support functions across 3 sites in the hospital network. He is currently undergoing Certification as a Physical Trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine. In 2012 he served as the Physical Fitness Trainer of the Dodan Warriors 1st Division Professional Basketball Team.
